Never eat alone
Have you ever seen the book called “Never eat alone”? No it’s not a thriller, but rather a non fiction book by Keith Ferrazzi. The premise is that to create a network before you need it through being genuine. Also that quality time trumps amount of time spent. Both of these concepts as well as the whole “never eat alone” resonates well with the HazTime team and why we are building HazTime.
The main reason why Richard came up with the concept of HazTime is his “trail mix moment”. On a business trip to Sydney back in 2015, Richard found himself wanting to not eat alone, and meet someone interesting. Whilst there were apps such as Tinder, he is a married man with a young family… and wasn’t looking for hookup but rather just some company over a meal. He found himself eating trail mix in his hotel. For being in a city such as Sydney where there are 5 + million people, it was a real shame he wasn’t able to meet anyone to share a meal with!
We’re building HazTime so Richard and others like him never need to eat alone! No one wants to be lonely. Sharing a meal with a trusted and reviewed individual should be easy. We want to be able to facilitate real genuine connections with real people. And how better than over a meal or coffee? Rather than the fear of rejection when asking a potential mentor to join you for a coffee, share your time with someone who genuinely wants to be there AND has the time to spend with you.
- Have coffee or a meal with someone from the local area.
- Have a chat with someone interesting.
- Pick someone’s brain about the city you are visiting and learn the lay of the land over dinner.
- Share a great food experience with someone who loves the same food as you do.
Why eat alone ever again? Don’t worry about playing with your phone or watching YouTube over a meal, share a meal in a nice venue and enjoy your HazTime. That’s where we want to get to. Creating real connections and obliterating loneliness.
